Top Wedding Destinations in the Philippines
According to Inquirer, the Philippines is poised to become the next top location for destination weddings. Why not? Aside from famous churches like Manila Cathedral, Binondo Church and San Agustin Church, there are thousands of venues to choose from it will be confusing which one is the best.
Nonetheless, wedding experts here and abroad agree that these are the topmost wedding destinations in the country.
In brief, destination wedding is a wedding that happened, happening or will happen to another destination other than the home town or country. Destination weddings are usually hosted on vacation spots where guests had to travel to and perhaps stay with the couple for several days before and after the wedding.
Baguio is known as the Philippines’ summer capital. The ambience is always cool and breezy which makes it a perfect destination for walking down the aisle. After that, wedding reception can be held in any of these eclectic locations: Burnham Park, Botanical Garden or Camp John Hay. Baguio Country Club is also a famous reception venue.
Just like Baguio, Tagaytay boasts of its year-round cool breeze. Adding up to the already romantic ambience are enchanting landscapes and scenic views. Not to mention, the couples and their guests can view the majestic Taal Volcano from afar. The best part is, Tagaytay is just two hours’ drive away from the metro.
Intramuros has an old world, classic charm, much like the grand European architecture. Scattered everywhere the walled city are Baluarte de San Diego, Casa Manila, La Castellana and Patio Victoria and some modern venue like Bayleafs Event Center and Manila Hotel. The stone-floored courtyards will make anyone feel as if they’ve traveled back in time.
Palawan is celebrated for its Underground River as well as its white sand beaches. Obviously, Palawan is perfect for beach weddings, especially green beach weddings, while overlooking some rocky coves and mountainous areas. After the wedding, newlyweds may treat their guests to water activities including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and island hopping.
Cebu is a home to hundreds of islands and islets where to-be-weds may hold their wedding ceremony and reception. There are also great destinations at Mactan like Waterfront Cebu and Plantation Bay. Nonetheless, if they want to hold the wedding at the heart of the city, they may do so at swankier hotels.
Boracay is a haven for the beach-loving, partying-hard lovers. On the glamour side though, any beach is the picture perfect backdrop for any beach wedding with its sparkly white sand and green turquoise waters during the day. Accommodations are also plenty from low-end hostels to posh boutique hotels.
Camiguin is a small province, so small the place is so serene you and your guests can have the area for all yourselves during your special day. This is despite having seven volcanoes. Some said the area is also perfect for renewal of vows because of the breathtaking scenery that can re-ignite love and passion at the same level when you first wed. The most famous wedding venue is White Island.
Bohol is famous for its tarsiers, Loboc River and Chocolate Hills. Not only that, it is also a home to powdery white sand beaches and mountainous terrains. Bohol is a place where century-old churches are found where you can hold the wedding ceremony at. Afterwards, you can go straight to a cruise at the River, overlooking bamboo bridges and tarsiers among other scenic views. Possibly, have your wedding reception at the cruise.
Note that these are only eight destinations, but the Philippines has more than these. These are just the most famous locations for destination weddings. The Philippines has 7,100 islands, right? However, such number is too small if we are going to account all the places where weddings can be held. Now that ‘s really more fun!
