Sorry to hear about this experience. Best in Venice getting away from the tourist zone .. Next time you eat out try and look what restaurants are nearby using the Google Maps app. Really handy for discovering nearby restaurants and bars..plus people leave reviews. If you like a place, you can ‘save’ the listing for future reference. Plus you can leave a review of the place you went and warn future unsuspecting travellers. Enjoy bella Venezia Rob!

Beware of the “Special”. It is flounder. Where we’re from, it’s a garbage fish. We were steered to it and ended up with a bill over 100 Euros!!! Absolutely not worth it!!!
Can’t help feeling that we were badly ripped off!
Spoke to another couple who had the same experience!!!

There is also a curious tradition, the “bacaro” or “bacaro tour”, a tour of these bacari starting from aperitivo time (6-7 p.m.).
